Control Point Rescue has a different paradigm to most emergency response and training organisations. CPR's preference is to align and work closely with clients, learn their processes and contextualise training and ERT delivery, specifically for the sites and tasks being undertaken. This process allows for courseware to be customised specifically to the site, enhancing and streamlining emergency response practice and process. To achieve this Control Point Rescue employs highly trained, professional and experienced, emergency response technicians and trainers. All personnel have proven emergency response backgrounds specifically Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and/or Resource Sector Emergency Response Team personnel.

The leadership team of Control Point Rescue has a combined experience of 36 years emergency response, incident control and training delivery across Australia. Control Point Rescue is a referral-based business with active emergency response, confined space management, and training contracts across heavy industrial and construction sites in the Far North.

Dayjavu Training and Assessment

You can’t get more ‘Queenslander!!!’ than Jack. A Gordonvale lad for many years Jack has dabbled in it all.

Birr chipping, roustabout in a shearing shed, irrigation control on an asparagus farm, concreter, lawn mowing / green keeping, furniture removalist, maintaining water supply systems, plumbers labourer, overhead gantry crane operator, shot fire driller (batter holes) and relief wards-man for a hospital. He played high level Rugby League for Valleys and coached A-Grade Rugby League for many years. It’s exhausting trying to keep up with Jack’s involvements.

Moving on to the sugar mills… as you do… Jack was head rigger, crane driver, scaffolder, and general HRW guy for Mulgrave Central Mill. From Health and Safety Rep, Jack moved into a safety officer role which included safety coordination and return to work rehabilitation for the entire mill. After a decade of sugar, Jack moved into the Government sector.

Jack became Principle Inspector, Licensing for Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) where he had oversight of the licensing system in the Northern Queensland region (Mackay to Cooktown). Within that time, Jack took on an industry release program where he was the safety advisor / trainer / assessor for the Thiess Degremont Desalination Project Wonthaggi, Victoria (a $1.4 billion project).

Jack moved on to become the training coordinator for the Gladstone Liquefied Natural Gas (GLNG) Upstream – Fluor, then safety advisor / assessor / training coordinator for QCLNG Thiess in a FIFO role, as well as safety advisor for APLNG Leighton (now CPB Contractors). With this project’s longevity, Jack asked to be transferred to the role of Safety Training Coordinator, due to his mutual joy of being a trainer/assessor, and seeing people not get hurt at work.

Jack joined the team of Total Management and Training during the year of fun that was 2020, and has been one of our key high risk work, confined space entry, heights, and HSR trainers delivering services throughout FNQ and into the Northern Territory.

Jack is still supporting industry, and spends his time training and assessing within the various contract roles he is currently undertaking.
