Extra support is available for elected and trained health and safety representatives. HSR direct is a free, confidential advisory service provided by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland which elected HSRs can reach by contacting 1300 633 419.
The HSR Support Service operated by the Queensland Council of Unions also provides confidential support, advice, information, education and tools to enable health and safety representatives to fulfil their roles.
The HSR Support Service has published A Guide to Health & Safety Representatives, which is a condensed version of the WHS Act 2011. It is not the complete Act but is a good reference tool for newly elected Queensland based HSRs to use in their role, and a highly recommended resource by Queensland Unions.
