Who Should Attend?
The course will provide a foundational understanding of project management principles and practices. It will introduce key concepts, methodologies, and tools that are critical for successful project management. Attendees will develop practical skills for project planning and execution to create project plans, define project scope, set objectives, and identify risks. They will understand the fundamental principles and terminology of project management.
Attendees will build skills which will enhance team collaboration and communication, and ensure all project stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle. Skills will also be gained in the use of best practices and standards. Attendees will learn to identify and use the appropriate systems and templates for delivery to agreed minimum standards.

Day One
This program will cover the following:
- Definition of a project and project management
- Typical project challenges
- Project lifecycle and project constraints
- Project management process and core skills required
- Developing the project proposal and initiating
- Roles of project sponsor and project manager
- Stakeholder identification and analysis
- Establishing requirements
- Creating the project charter and project objectives statement
- Transition to planning and project scoping
- Assigning project team roles and responsibilities
- Developing a work breakdown structure
- Defining task dependencies
Day Two
This program will cover the following:
- Time, effort and cost estimating
- Critical path analysis
- Assigning resources and estimating costs
- Project plan optimisation
- Risk identification and analysis
- Developing risk management plans
- Setting up project controls and establishing a baseline
- Tracking choices and capturing status
- Managing risks, issues and changes
- Asessing variances and adjusting the schedule
- Project performance reporting, and managing stakeholders
- Closing the project and lessons learned
Course Outcome
This program is designed to equip staff with essential project management skills and knowledge to enhance their ability to plan, execute, and manage projects effectively. All participants will be provided with printed information and handouts, sessions are interactive and collaborative, and each attendee will gain a Certificate of Completion.
Course Venue and Equipment
Course may be delivered in our training rooms in Cairns (subject to availability), or onsite at the client's premises.
Where courses are conducted onsite then a suitable venue complete with TV monitor or data projector, white board (or butchers paper), is to be provided by the client company. The venue shall have sufficient space for the participants to be seated comfortably for the duration of training. Any catering costs shall be borne by the client company. Please contact us to discuss alternate arrangements if there is any difficulty in providing these facilities and equipment.
Additional Costs and Expenses
Where the training is conducted outside the immediate Cairns area then additional costs will be applicable. Any airfares, travel, accommodation, meals and materials freight incurred in the provision of this training will be on-charged plus 10%. Mileage and traveling time will be charged at our standard rates. Please contact us for a formal quotation for courses conducted outside of Cairns.
